Nightclub Rejects Blame for Fight That Extended to Bystander

A jury ruled for a nightclub that was sued by a patron who claimed she was hit in the head with a glass bottle when she was caught in a fight between two other patrons.

Marina Kletskaya, who was 45 at the time of the December 2014 incident, claimed she suffered a concussion. She contended security guards in the Blue Martini at the Town Center at Boca Raton should have intervened before the fight escalated.

Defense counsel argued that if the fight had been ongoing for minutes as Kletskaya claimed, she was negligent for failing to leave a dangerous scene. The defense also claimed 13 security guards were on duty. The jury found no evidence of a security lapse.
